Fernandez, RITC for Region VIII Having been witness to seamless possibilities that computerization brings, the Provincial Government of Northern Samar (PGNS) has been intent on focusing its efforts towards automation, especially on the delivery of frontline services to its constituents. With technical assistance from the National Computer Center (NCC) for the planning and endorsement of their Information System Strategic Plan (ISSP) for 2005-2008, finally, a blueprint was laid down for the computerization efforts of PGNS. |

Now an official semifinalist in the Community and Portal Category, PhilCeCNet.ph will be competing with nine other entries in the pre-finals round wherein the judges will be selecting the top five sites based on the following criteria: Design - 20%; Usability- 20%; Functionality – 40%; and Content – 20%. |

Barangay Indahag in Cagayan de Oro City is the first and sole barangay beneficiary of the CeC component of the eLGU Project. The establishment of the CeC, which is located ten kilometers away from city proper, was made possible through the efforts and endorsement of Congressman Rufus Rodriguez of the 2nd District. |

Though the island is approximately an hour from the town of Lavezares through motorboat, the municipality of Biri, with its zeal to pursue ICT even with its last mile problem, has excelled in the realization of its ICT endeavors with the full support of the local administration and the technical assistance of the National Computer Center – Field Operations Office (NCC-FOO). |

Cagayan de Oro City has been initiating various activities to develop the ICT sector, not only in the city and the region, but for Mindanao as a whole. The Cagayan de Oro ICT Council, in collaboration with the Regional Information Technology and e-Commerce Committee (RITECC-10), hosted the 1st Mindanao Resources Conference on ICT (1MRCi) last October 2-3, 2008. The event was held at the Grand Caprice Restaurant, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City with the theme, “AIM for ICT! Assessment, Intervention and Monitoring for Mindanao ICT Resources.” |
